Arlington Bishop Michael Burbidge Shuts Down 13 Latin Mass Sites

Conservative Arlington Bishop Michael Burbidge is taking out 13 (!) locations where the Roman Mass is celebrated. In a July 29 letter, he decrees that 8 of the 21 current locations throughout Arlington Diocese will have the Roman Mass available for the approximately "2.5% of local, Mass-attending Catholics who prefer this liturgical form” - as if the Church's liturgy were a "preference." The measures take effect September 8. After having declared war on the best of the Catholics, a hypocritical Burbidge asks the Holy Spirit to increase his gifts of "unity" and "peace" within the universal Church and within his diocese.
