Reverend Javier Sánchez, 60, died on 4th April in the Miguel Servet Hospital in Zaragoza, Spain. He was presiding over the Easter Vigil last Saturday at the convent of the Sisters in the Santa Isabel district of Zaragoza, where he lived. Monsignor James Powers, the Bishop of Superior, Wisconsin, has accused Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, a former nuncio to the United States (2011-2016), of "public defamation", reports PillarCatholic.com (decree here). Monsignor Powers presided over a syncretistic Chrism Eucharist on 19 March, which included a shamanic ceremony in which several women danced around the Novus Ordo table with feathers and drum beats. Viganò called this a "sacrilegious act that desecrates the cathedral" and said that Mgr Powers was "not a successor of the Apostles, but a servant of Freemasonry" [although the event must be blamed entirely on the Novus Ordo Church, not on anyone else].
